All AAVs are produced in AAVpro-Hek293 cells, purified via gradient and ultracentrifugation. Titers are validated via digital droplet PCR (ddPCR) using genetic target or ITR primer sets, with minimum titer of 1e13 GC/mL (genome copies per mL). Catalog items are produced as 50µL aliquots* in their specified capsids. Other capsids will be custom order. *GRAB sensors are made at 100µL aliquots.

Enhancer AAVs New Items!
BEC Enhancer AAVs
CNCM has developed new useful tools for delivering genetic payloads specifically to Brain Endothelia cells (BECs) for normal and diseased brain studies. These vectors specifically target brain endothelial cells (BEC) based on the cis-regulatory elements identified from single-cell epigenetic datasets. Ex vivo and in vivo characterization of BEC enhancer AAVs in wild type, Ai9 reporter, and Alzheimer’s disease mouse brains show their utility for high transduction selectivity of the brain endothelial cells with little off-target transduction in the liver. Our BEC enhancer AAVs target the brain vasculature by systemic administration and can be minimally invasive in terms of the route of administration. Enhancer AAVs- Dr. Gordon Fishell/ Broad Institute
The CNCM has partnered up with lab of Dr. Gordon Fishell at the Broad Institute at Harvard University to produce and distribute cell-type specific enhancer AAV reagents as part of the BRAIN Initiative Armamentarium project. These enhancer AAVs enable precise genetic targeting of specific cell types across rodents, non-human primates, and other vertebrates, facilitating targeted manipulation of neural circuits. This property is crucial for advancing the understanding of normal brain function. The incorporation of gene regulatory elements for precise gene expression represents a groundbreaking advancement in the field of brain circuitry research. ATLAS AAVs
We are pleased to collaborate with Dr. Don Arnold at USC to distribute their ATLAS AAVs. To learn more about the ATLAS AAVs, please read the preprint here. Steps to ordering the ATLAS AAVs:
- Obtain written permission from Dr. Arnold.
- Execute an MTA between USC and your organization.
- Order the ATALS AAVs via our online order form (below)
- Execute a Sales & Service (S&S) with UCI and your organization.
- Virus will be shipped once the MTA and S&S are finalized and PO# is provided.
All ATLAS AAVS come as AAV8, custom serotypes obtain permission from Dr. Arnold and are considered custom scale (0.5mL).

Custom AAV Services
Our CNCM core currently offer Custom AAV virus services. We offer full service from gene synthesis/cloning, packaging to validation services. You can provide your plasmid or get one custom built to suit your needs. We offer over 150+ serotypes.
Expect a turnaround time for 6-8 weeks depending on service. Please note more complex cloning will require longer turnaround time.
After maxi prepping and packaging your DNA into your AAV serotype of choice, we purify with CsCl2 gradient ultracentrifugation to get rid of the empty vectors, titer> 1 x 1013 GC/ml in 0.5 ml. Titers are preformed via ddPCR.
