Our viral production facility aims at aiding investigators in the development and production of viral vectors for in-vivo and in-vitro experimentation purposes. Our state-of-the-art equipment coupled with our expertise allows use to ensure high quality products. We will provide all related sequence data, vector maps, plasmids and ready-to-use viruses once your orders are completed. Our facility has a UC approved, recharge-based service platform and we accept both UC and external orders.

FAQs
What is the expected turnaround time for out of stock items? Please allow 7 weeks for out of stock items to be made and validated. This includes custom viruses.
How to I obtain a vector to package into an AAV virus? Some plasmids are available via Addgene and can shipped directly to our lab. We also have custom vector building service to build your construct of interest.
Are there packaging limits for AAVs? The packaging limit for AAvs is 5 Kb. Any larger vectors may require more starting material and higher costs; if we are unable to fulfill your custom order we reserve the right to cancel it at any time.
Do you offer custom Rabies, Herpes (H129), Yellow Fever Virus (YFV), Lenti virus services? These are offered on an case by case basis. Please fill out the investigator form and we will put together a custom quote for you.
Do you offer plasmids or plasmid maps? No, we do not provide any plasmids or plasmid maps. Exception: custom AAV services which starting material is provided by the customer or synthesized for them.
What documentation is required for obtaining virus?
- Your current IBC and/or IACUC number.
- A valid PO for your order.
- a Sales and Service agreement between UCI and your university.
What will be included in our shipment? Your virus will be shipped or dropped off on dry ice. They will include a data sheet with titer and handling directions. Please allow the CNCM staff to handle all logistics for shipping and handling, including delivery on UCI campus.
Terms and conditions? For all depository items we own the intellectual and distribution rights to. Any modifications to our viruses must be obtained in writing and will be reviewed on case-by-case basis. We require all items that are used in publications to acknowledge the UCI Center for Neural Circuit Mapping (CNCM) Viral Core.
What payment forms do you accept? For UCs we take account/fund numbers and bill you internally. For external institutions, we accept check and bank wire. Before we deliver we request a PO or copy of order from your institution.
