The CNCM has partnered up with the lab of Dr. Gordon Fishell at the Broad Institute at Harvard University to produce and distribute cell-type specific enhancer AAV reagents as part of the BRAIN Initiative Armamentarium project. These enhancer AAVs enable precise genetic targeting of specific cell types across rodents, non-human primates, and other vertebrates, facilitating targeted manipulation of neural circuits. This property is crucial for advancing the understanding of normal brain function. The incorporation of gene regulatory elements for precise gene expression represents a groundbreaking advancement in the field of brain circuitry research. Enhancer AAVs
UCI CNCM Viral Core offers the following reagents. All enhancer AAVs are produced in HEK293 cells, purified via gradient and ultracentrifugation. Titers are validated via droplet ddPCR and meet our titer of 5 x 1012 GC/mL (genome copies per mL). At this time, we offer two ready-to-use packaging options in 50uL aliquots: PHP.eB or AAV2-retro. Additional serotypes and payloads may be available via custom AAV orders.
